In 2005 Shah's Halal Food was one cart in Richmond Hill, Queens, parked at 121st and Liberty Avenue. Chicken over rice, a scoop of chopped salad, a line of white sauce. That plate is still the first thing most people order.
The Same Plate on Sugarloaf Parkway
Nothing about the build changed on the way down. The protein comes off the flat top chopped, the rice is seasoned, the salad is cut cold, and the white sauce goes over the top. Order it over rice, folded into a pita or on a roll.
