The menu
Shah's Halal Food began in 2005 with a single food cart in Richmond Hill, Queens, on 121st and Liberty Avenue. The menu that cart built is the menu we serve on Sugarloaf Parkway: chicken and gyro over rice, wrapped in pita, finished with white sauce.

Ask what makes a Shah's plate a Shah's plate and you get the same answer every time. The white sauce goes over the rice, into the pita and onto the fries.

We came here for lunch with the family. The service was excellent. The ladies were very helpful, kind, and patient. A lot of our food came out piping hot. I personally enjoyed the philly cheese steak. My family said the combo and kofta kabob platter was also delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
I’m not one to seek halal food but this place is really good regardless. You can tell everything is made fresh and portion size is great. I got the chicken and my mom gave me a bite of her lamb and I’m going back just for that. The staff was nice and patient while I took my time reading the menu and picking my ... toppings. They sell drinks by the can or bottle so unfortunately no free refills if you’re dining in. I couldn’t finish my plate so I took it home and put it in the fridge. Oddly enough, I enjoyed it more cold which is not normal for me. Ask for a pita on the side if you can’t decide between a wrap or plate. I picked plate since the portions seemed bigger. Would highly recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area! Read More
I stopped by recently and was seriously impressed. The cheesesteak was packed with flavor—perfectly seasoned meat, melty cheese, and fresh bread that held everything together without getting soggy. The wings were just as good—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and tossed in a sauce that had the right balance ... of heat and flavor. And the loaded fries? Easily the highlight. Generous toppings, the burger cooked just right, and every bite had something going on. You can tell they don’t cut corners on quality or portions. Definitely a spot worth coming back to if you’re craving solid comfort food done right. Read More

The plate people come back for is the platter: chicken over rice and beef and lamb over rice, both built on seasoned rice with lettuce, tomato and a heavy pour of white sauce. Off the same grill we wrap a chicken gyro, griddle a Philly cheese steak, and fry falafel over rice for anyone skipping meat.
Shah's Halal Food is a halal street-food kitchen. That means halal platters served over seasoned rice, Middle Eastern staples like kofta and shahwarma, gyros carved off the vertical broiler, kabob plates, and American griddle food such as the cheesesteak. White sauce and hot sauce go on nearly all of it.
Order takeout at the counter, send it out for delivery on Uber Eats, or use online ordering and skip the line. Ask about catering for offices, teams and family gatherings, and the platters travel well enough to make a fast lunch for a whole crew.
